Under The Same Sun has launched a new educational awareness kit designed for use in Canadian primary and secondary school classrooms, aiming to reduce stigma and increase understanding of albinism among children and young people who may have classmates with the condition.

The kit includes lesson plans, illustrated story cards, a teacher guide, and a set of discussion prompts calibrated for different age groups. It was developed in consultation with persons with albinism, educators, and child psychologists.

The organisation says early pilots in British Columbia and Ontario showed strong uptake among teachers and positive responses from students, including those with albinism who reported feeling more seen and included after the sessions.
