<p>The United Nations Independent Expert on the enjoyment of human rights by persons with albinism presented a landmark report to the Human Rights Council in Geneva, calling for a dedicated global agenda to address the specific and intersecting vulnerabilities faced by persons with albinism worldwide.</p><p>The report highlighted that despite growing international attention, persons with albinism continue to face life-threatening violence, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa, as well as systemic discrimination in education, healthcare, and employment in every region of the world.</p><p>The expert called on member states to enact or strengthen legal protections, fund research into albinism-related health needs, and invest in community-led organisations that provide direct support.</p>
